Ed Martin

Ed, a graduate of Wilburton High school and UCO has been recognized throughout our country as a man of influence, leadership, and service. Currently, Ed serves as the Executive Chairman at Ackerman and McQueen. For 31 years Ed led the Oklahoma Publishing Company as Vice President. Ed has volunteered and led many organizations such as the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation, The American Heart Association, Committee of 100 and Allied Arts just to name a few. He was the past president and Executive Board Member of the Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts. Ed was the State Board Chairman of Oklahoma FCA for five years. During his leadership as FCA Board Chairman, he led the charge for raising the financial support in underwriting the FCA State Office located in Edmond.  Oklahoma FCA’s state office building was the first FCA building that was constructed outside of our National FCA Office.  Ed and his wife Kathy have two children and four grandchildren. They Matin’s live in Edmond, and worship at First Presbyterian Church where Ed is an Elder. 

Bob Hoffman

Bob, a graduate of Putnam City High School and OBU has carved out an incredible college basketball coaching record of 681 wins in his 32 years of coaching.  In 2014, his Mercer Bears defeated Duke in the first round of March Madness. This upset victory is considered one of the greatest upsets in the history of March Madness.  Bob is a member of the OBU Athletic Hall of Fame, Macon Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and in 2014 Bob received the John Lotz National FCA Coaching Award. Coach Hoffman has been a faithful ambassador for FCA during his coaching career at Piedmont High School, SNU, OBU, Texas Pan Am, Mercer University and is currently the head coach at UCO. Bob has always been a coach that shared his faith and impacted his athletes in a powerful way for Christ. In the coaching world, Bob is respected by his peers due to his great coaching ability and is commitment to Christ. Bob and his wife Kelli live in Edmond. His son, Grant and wife Rachel along with their grandson Mitchell live in Tennessee.  

Marshall Snipes

Snipes was introduced to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a young high school athlete at U.S. Grant Highschool in 1966 under the guidance of Coach Gary Lower. In 1974 Clendon Thomas introduced Snipes to the first Executive Director of Oklahoma FCA Chuck Bowman. Bowman named Snipes to the Board of Directors as its initial Treasurer beginning a lifelong involvement as a volunteer in FCA.


 Snipes has served as a member and Chairman of the Board of Oklahoma FCA, as a board member and Treasurer of the National FCA Board of Trustees, as the initial Chairman of the Oklahoma FCA Endowment Fund, a member of the National Task Force to reorganize national FCA, and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Oklahoma FCA Board of Directors.  In 1995 Snipes was selected as a member of the Tom Landry Associates.


 Snipes has co-authored two books Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Athletes 60 Years of Influence and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Godly Influence On and Off the Field The Life of Chuck Bowman. Snipes has served on many church, civic and charitable organizations Board of Directors and has received gubernatorial appointments from Governors Henry Bellmon, Frank Keating, Mary Fallin and Kevin Stitt and a mayoral appointment from Mayor Ron Norick.

 

Snipes and his wife, Carla live in Oklahoma City and have two children and four grandchildren.


Milt Cooper

Milton and his wife Rosemary have been actively involved with FCA as a huddle coach, Mean Dean, and Regional VP for FCA from 1982 through 2017. During that time, Coach Cooper led huddles in Watonga, Fox, Ardmore, Hollis, and Madill. FCA was Milton’s platform for him to share Christ with his athletes, students, and coaches in each school that he coached in. Coach also traveled throughout Oklahoma and shared his faith with other schools, coaches, and athletic teams.  Because of his influence, many of his athletes became coaches. When Oklahoma FCA thinks of the many influential coaches who have coached in our state, Coach Cooper is at the top of the list. After 35 years of coaching and nine years of working with FCA, Coach Cooper retired and moved to Kansas City to be close to his family members. He now serves with Coaches Outreach in the Kansas City area. The Coopers have been married 52 years and have three children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

Ted Owens

Ted Owens, a former First Lieutenant in the United States Army is recognized throughout our country as one of the most successful basketball coaches to have ever coached. He is a graduate of Hollis High School and the University of Oklahoma. Ted was a three-sport athlete at Hollis and letter in basketball at OU between 1948 and 1951. Ted began his college coaching career at Cameron Junior College where his basketball team was #1 in 1958. He led the Cameron NJCAA Baseball team to its first and only national title in 1958. Ted became the head coach at the University of Kansas from 1960 to 1983 where he won 15 Big 8 Championships and appeared in two final four appearances. He also coached at Oral Roberts University, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Saint Leo University. Ted has been active in FCA as a huddle coach, FCA staffer, FCA Camp Coach and speaker for FCA during his career. He is a true ambassador for Christ!  Ted and his wife Michelle live in Tulsa. They have four children and five grandchildren. 

Steve Largent

Steve Largent, a graduate from Putnam City High School and the University of Tulsa has been a faithful volunteer and speaker for FCA throughout the country. Steve played 14 years for the Seattle Seahawks, earning 7 Pro Bowl appearances, and setting 6 NFL receiving records. He was inducted into the National Football League Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1988 Steve was recognized as the NFL man of the year for his commitment to community service. Steve served four terms as a member of the United States Congress, representing Oklahoma’s First Congressional District. Steve is also the former CEO of CTIA-the wireless association. Steve’s greatest catch is his wife, Terry. Terry and Steve live in Tulsa and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. FCA is thankful for Steve and his commitment to Christ. We praise God for the Largent’s, their love for FCA and their powerful influence throughout the country.
