Jaykob Taylor

Vian High School

Coach: Football, Baseball

"My walk with Christ began when I was young. I went to church 3 times a week with my grandparents who raised me. When I got into college I saw myself slowly slipping into the habit of not going to church. This changed when I met my wife and we had our first child. I wanted to give them the same opportunity that I had when I was growing up in church. By the time we had our second child we were avid church goers. When the Board of Ed here at Vian asked me to head up FCA, I didn’t think that I was worthy enough. Boy was I wrong. Doing FCA has opened a door I have never been through before and now my walk with Christ involves my family including my 5 year old who never lets me miss a service or a bedtime prayer."

FCA Role: "I am the FCA coordinator for my district. This involves communicating with the kids and planning events. We have participated in the OU Football game day where we brought 60 high school kids from the district. We have done a snow cone social along with teaming up with the athletic department to have free admission to a softball game. We adopted 8 angels off of the Angel Tree this year and went shopping as a group for them. I am very involved with communicating with the community to feed our students every other Thursday at lunch where we avg. 35-55 kids. We plan on sending 2-6 kids this year to Extreme Camp!"

Family: Wife, Jordan. 2 children
